I am a qualified, accredited and registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist, offering support to adults experiencing psychological difficulties. I am fully bilingual in English and Spanish so I can provide therapy in any of these languages.
I saw my first patient in London in 2009, and since then, I have spent many thousands of hours talking to people and helping them with various concerns. People have often presented to me their worries about anxiety, relationship issues, depression, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, unhappiness, loss, difficulties relating to sexuality, making big life changes, low self-esteem and attachment difficulties such as fears and over preocupation.
I have gained a wide experience helping people from diverse backgrounds, including sexual and ethnic minority groups, by working privately and offering my services in various organisations, including the NHS.
I hold a BSc (Honours) degree in Integrative Counselling awarded by Roehampton University and a PGDip in Attachment Studies. I am also accredited and registered by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
To provide psychological support online safely and with full ethical considerations, I recently trained to be a Certified Cyber Therapist. The Online Therapy Institute is the body that awards this certification.
If you have health insurance, please let me know. I am approved by health insurers, including Bupa, Aviva and WPA.
How I work?
I am motivated by a lifelong curiosity in people and their ability to grow and overcome challenges. Sometimes, life can be challenging, and we might need someone with professional experience to help us get back on track. This is normal, and you are not alone.
I imagine that contacting a therapist might feel like an essential step for you, and you want to make sure it feels you are in the right place, with the right therapist, feel at ease and understood. I believe that a good trusting relationship with your therapist is of paramount importance before any meaningful therapeutic work can occur. For this reason, my style of working is being side by side with individuals at a pace that suits them, and my professional approach is compassionate, warm and down to earth.
Although I work integratively, using different Psychotherapy approaches, I have a PGDip in Attachment Studies. This means I can help you gain a sophisticated understanding of your own attachment style, which I view as vital in order to help you improve your relationship with yourself and others.
In general terms, I meet my clients at the same time every week, and your commitment to the process is an important component of positive psychological change. For this reason, securing the same weekly slot in your calendar makes this easier to achieve. I can be flexible around your weekly schedule as I understand that people have different life commitments.
About online therapy benefits
Online therapy can provide a convenient and effective environment for therapeutic connection to take place. It is similar to face-to-face therapy yet does not need the same physical location. Therefore, it is a great option for people with busy schedules or who live in places where psychological support is scarced.
Sessions last 60 minutes in length and are held every week at a time agreed between us. Please note that regular contact is strongly recommended to achieve the maximum therapeutic benefit.
Even though online therapy has many benefits, there are some limitations. Thus, online therapy is not recommended for those at risk of committing suicide or in an acute crisis.
If you are currently feeling suicidal or are in immediate crisis, Befrienders International offers crisis resources worldwide.
