My name is Ernesto L. Brea and I am a UK-qualified BACP accredited and registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist working with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties. I am fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Para Español haga clic aquí.
I have over 13 years of consulting room experience in Central London and my practice has now moved fully online in response to the global pandemic. Over the years I have gained a wide range of experience helping people from diverse backgrounds, including sexual and minority ethnic groups, working privately and with various organisations, including the NHS.
I am a Certified Cyber Therapist, granted by the Online Therapy Institute, which means I am fully trained in carrying out psychotherapy sessions specifically online.
My clients include busy professionals and digital nomads, those based in London and other parts of the UK, as well as those travelling professionally or for leisure. What connects them all is that they want to work on their personal issues regularly and in privacy, with the convenience of joining the session from wherever they might be at that moment.
During the initial sessions I would like to get to know you and understand what has become unmanageable for you.
I would be interested to hear about various aspects of your life, including your current and or past experiences, meaningful people in your life, your interests and aspirations. My aim is to provide you with a therapeutic relationship where you feel supported and understood and help you gain a deeper insight of how you relate to yourself and other people.
Although I am humanistic and work integratively, I have a particular interest in attachment studies, which means I can help you gain a sophisticated understanding of your own attachment style, which I view a vital component to help you improve your relationships.
Online therapy is a convenient opportunity for connection and healing for those who find face-to-face treatment impossible or difficult. This could be because of location, commute or due to it being emotionally challenging. It can also give flexibility to those with busy schedules or regularly travelling.
Limitations of online therapy
Remember that online therapy is not recommended for those at risk of committing suicide or who are in acute crisis. If you are feeling suicidal or are in immediate danger Befriender’s International offers crisis resources worldwide.
